Men's Lacrosse hosts NCAA Quarterfinal and Semifinal games

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT is set to host quarterfinal and semifinal games of the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Tournament this Saturday and Sunday, May 17-18.
 
RIT will take on Cortland at 12:00 p.m. before RPI and Dickinson square off at 3:00 p.m. The two winners will meet on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in the semifinal with a berth in next weekend's national championship on the line.
 
Tickets can be purchased at the gate and are $5.00 for adults and $3 for students/children. The first 200 RIT students will be admitted free to the game with proper ID.

RIT TIGERS (20-1) ROSTER | RESULTS | STATISTICS
RIT is making its 26th appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and 16th straight dating back to 2010. The Tigers are 47-23 all-time in NCAA Tournament games, including a 41-12 record since 2010. This is RIT's eighth straight appearance in the quarterfinals and 17th overall. RIT has made 13 national semifinals appearances and five appearances in the national championship game, winning back-to-back national championships in 2021 and 2022.
 
RIT advanced to the quarterfinals with a 17-13 win over St. John Fisher in last Sunday's third-round game. Senior attackman Clifford Gaston scored six goals and added an assist and junior midfielder Chase Bruno tallied four goals. Graduate student midfielder Ian Dinga tied his career-high, handing out four assists and junior attackman Ethan Harkins finished with two goals and two assists. Fifth-year faceoff specialist Allyn French won a career-high 24 faceoffs and junior goalie Alex Zborowski made 12 saves in net.
 
RIT is 19th in Division III averaging 15.86 goals per game, ninth in assists (214) and man-up percentage (46.8%) and tenth in points (547).
 
Gaston leads RIT with 81 points and 64 goals. The 2025 Liberty League Offensive Player of the Year is 16th in Division III averaging 3.56 goals per game, and is the second player in program history to score 300 career points and is second all-time with 223 career goals. Senior attackman Nate Senez is second on the team with 73 points and leads the Tigers with 44 assists and Dinga is third in scoring with 52 points on 24 goals and 28 assists, all career highs.
 
RIT is 23rd in Division III allowing 8.48 goals per contest, second in clearing percentage (91.9%), tied for eighth with 836 ground balls and has won 55.1 percent of its face offs. The Tigers have killed off 73.9% (54-of-73) of their penalties and cause 8.95 turnovers per game.
 
Zborowski is 20-1 and is tenth in the country with an 8.08 goals-against average and 24th with a .582 save percentage. Sophomore long-stick midfielder Logan Fletcher leads RIT with 27 caused turnovers and fifth year defenseman Drew Leahy is second with 18. French has won 161-of-263 (61.2%) face offs and leads the team with 72 ground balls.  
 
SUNY CORTLAND RED DRAGONS (19-2) ROSTER | RESULTS | STATISTICS
Cortland is making its 38th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and first since 2022, winning the 2006 and 2009 national championships. The Red Dragons advanced to the quarterfinals with a 10-6 win at York (Pa.) in Sunday's third-round game. Graduate student goalie Travis Wagner made 12 saves in net, and junior attackman Nick Stoecker led the Red Dragons with a goal and four assists.
 
Cortland is fifth in Division III averaging 17.81 goals per game. The Red Dragons are second in the country in points (609), third in assists (235) and fourth in man-up percentage (51.5%). Senior midfielder Sam Rothman leads Cortland with 83 points and 56 goals. Sophomore attackman Sean Kavanagh is second with 78 points and leads the Red Dragons with 31 assists. Stoecker (25g, 23a) and senior midfielder Klay Stuver (38g, 10a) are third for third with 48 points apiece.
 
Cortland is third in Division III allowing 7.38 goals per game and killed off 58-of-79 (73.4%) of its penalties. The Red Dragons lead Division III causing 14.48 turnovers per game and seventh in ground balls (842). Wagner is 17-2 and is ninth in Division III with an 8.07 goals-against average and 17th with a .590 save percentage. Senior defensive midfielder Alex Thrasher and senior defenseman Christian Lembo leads Cortland with 30 caused turnovers. Sophomore faceoff specialist Nicky Miltenberger is 133-of-247 (53.8%) on face-offs and leads the team with 72 ground balls.
 
RPI ENGINEERS (16-3) ROSTER | RESULTS | STATISTICS
RPI is making its second straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament and seventh overall. The Engineers advanced to the quarterfinals with a 13-7 win at Wesleyan in last Sunday's third-round game. Junior midfielder Sean Smith and graduate student attackman Erik Ojert led RPI with six points apiece and senior goalkeeper Joseph Perry made seven saves in net.
 
RPI averages 13.3 goals per game and are 17-of-58 (29.3%) on man-up. Junior attackman Tyler Ruffini leads RPI with 77 points and 41 assists to go along with 36 goals. Sophomore attackman Easton Morse is second with 70 points and leads the Engineers with 47 goals. Ojert is third with 52 points (23g, 29a).
 
The Engineers are fifth in Division III allowing 7.58 goals per game and killed off 49-of-71 (69.0%) of their penalties. Perry is 16-3 and is fourth in the country with a 7.60 goals-against average and 13th with a .671 save percentage. Senior defenseman Nick Biava leads RPI with 26 caused turnovers. Graduate student faceoff specialist Angelo Venuto is 16th in Division III winning 67.1% (276-of-408) of his draws and is 13th averaging 9.94 ground balls per game.
 
DICKINSON RED DEVILS (15-5) ROSTER | RESULTS | STATISTICS
Dickinson is making its ninth NCAA Tournament appearance and fourth straight. The Red Devils advanced to the quarterfinals with an 11-10 overtime win at Salisbury in last Sunday's third-round game. Sophomore Luke Whelan scored the game-winner with 1:09 remaining in overtime. Senior Midfielder Ethan Gess led Dickinson with a goal and two assists, while sophomore attackman Ramsey Huggins and junior midfielder Landen Hyatt each scored two goals. Sophomore goalie Rocco Bognet made 12 saves in goal.

The Red Devils average 11.6 goals per game and are 16-of-48 (33.3%) on man-up. Hyatt and Gess are tied for first on the team with 49 points apiece. Hyatt leads the Red Devils with 45 goals, while Gess has handed out a team-best 28 assists. Huggins is third with 42 points (30g, 12a).

The Red Devils allow 9.15 goals per game, killing off 35-of-55 (63.6%) of their penalties. Dickinson averages 10.15 caused turnovers and are 16th in Division III with 792 ground balls. Senior defenseman Evan Karetsos leads the team with 45 caused turnovers and first year defender Ethan Ferrant is second with 25. Senior faceoff specialist Ben Trucksess is winning 61.0% (258-of-423) of his draws and leads the Red Devils with 137 ground balls. Bognet is 12-5 with an 8.95 goals-against average and a .498 save percentage.
