Women’s Soccer falls to Skidmore, 1-0, in Liberty League Tournament
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The RIT women's soccer team lost on the road to Skidmore, 1-0, in the first round of the Liberty League Tournament, Tuesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the 32nd minute, one of RIT's best looks of the game came when senior forward Rachel Marriott found herself in space on the left side of goal, sending a shot wide right of goal.
- Skidmore's Ella Stone broke the scoreless stalemate in the 85th minute when the midfielder sent a high-arching shot from the right side over junior goalkeeper Emily Sanchez, placing the ball just inside the left post.
GAME NOTES
- The Tigers out-shot Skidmore 13 to 7 in the game as RIT put four of those shots on goal.
- Marriott led the team with two shots on goal while taking four shots overall.
- With a final record of 8-6-4 (4-3-2 LL), RIT has finished with a winning record for the sixth consecutive season.
- Stone's goal was her 13th of the season and currently leads the Liberty League in goals scored.
