Women’s Basketball earns several All-Liberty League honors
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The 2024-25 All-Liberty League Women's Basketball awards and teams were announced Tuesday, with the RIT women's basketball team receiving several individual awards while two players were named to the second team.
Sophomore Maddy Ramsgard and first-year Caroline Henderson have been named to the second team, while Henderson was named Rookie of the Year.
After guiding the Tigers to their first winning season since 2018-19, Melissa Kuberka and the rest of the coaching staff were named the Coaching Staff of the Year.
Henderson led the conference in both three-point field goal shooting percentage (.424) and three-point field goals made (72). Nationally, Henderson ranks 16th in Division III in three-point field goal shooting percentage and 21st in three-point field goals made. Her 72 three-pointers made this season is also a program record.
The Pittsburgh-native led RIT this season with 13.0 points per game after starting all 27 games, averaging 31.6 minutes per contest.
Ramsgard, a sophomore transfer, also started every game this season while leading the team in minutes with 32.3 per game. Ramsgard averaged 11.2 points per game, finishing the year with a team-high .487 field goal shooting percentage.
In Kuberka's first season in charge of the program, RIT advanced to the Liberty League Tournament semifinals for the first time since the 2018-19 campaign. The team's 15 wins are also the most since that season.
