Men's Lacrosse hosts NCAA Second and Third Round games

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT is set to host second and third-round games of the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Tournament this Saturday and Sunday, May 10-11.
 
RIT will take on Ohio Northern at 12:00 p.m. before Ohio Wesleyan and St. John Fisher square off at 3:00 p.m. The two winners will meet on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in the third round with a berth in next weekend's quarterfinals on the line.
 
Tickets can be purchased at the gate and are $5.00 for adults and $3 for students/children. The first 200 RIT students will be admitted free to the game with proper ID.

RIT TIGERS (18-1) ROSTER | RESULTS | STATISTICS
RIT is making its 26th appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and 16th straight dating back to 2010. The Tigers are 45-23 all-time in NCAA Tournament games, including a 39-12 record since 2010. RIT has reached the quarterfinals 16 times, including seven straight seasons and 13 national semifinals appearances. The Tigers have made five appearances in the national championship game, winning back-to-back national championships in 2021 and 2022.
 
RIT defeated St. Lawrence 11-10 in last Sunday's Liberty League Championship winning its 12th conference crown in 13 seasons. Graduate student Seth Grottenthaler was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player scoring three goals while first year Ryan Bullock scored a season-high four goals. Junior Chase Bruno finished with a goal and two assists and junior Alex Zborowski made eight saves in goal to improve to 18-1 this season.
 
RIT is tied for 20th in Division III with 15.58 goals per game, 12th with 189 assists and 16th converting 45.5 percent of its man-up chances.
 
Senior Clifford Gaston leads RIT with 73 points and 57 goals. The 2025 Liberty League Offensive Player of the Year is the second player in program history to score 300 career points and is second all-time with 216 career goals. Senior Nate Senez is second on the team with 69 points and leads the Tigers with 42 assists and graduate student Ian Dinga is third in scoring with 48 points on 24 goals and 24 assists, all career highs.
 
RIT allows 8.53 goals per contest, second in Division IIi with a 91.6 percent clearing percentage, 21st with 733 ground balls and has won 53.7 percent of its face offs. The Tigers have killed off 74.6% (50-of-67) of their penalties and cause 8.63 turnovers per game.
 
Zborowski is 18-1 with a 7.97 goals-against average and a .585 save percentage. Sophomore Logan Fletcher leads RIT with 25 caused turnovers and fifth-year Drew Leahy is second with 16. Graduate student Allyn French has won 132-of-224 (.589) face offs and leads the team with 61 ground balls.  
 
OHIO NORTHERN POLAR BEARS (16-4) ROSTERRESULTS | STATISTICS
Ohio Northern is making its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Polar Bears earned an automatic bid with a 10-9 win over Baldwin Wallace in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championship. Ohio Northern advanced to the second round with a 14-7 win over Aurora in Wednesday's first round game. Junior Colin Willits led the Polar Bears with four goals and first year Peyton Lich made 14 saves in net.
 
The Polar Bears average 13.9 goals per game and are 26-of-67 (38.8%) on man-up. Willits leads Ohio Northern with 67 points and 54 goals. Sophomore Mitchel Luck and senior Caleb Bennett are tied for second on the team with 61 points apiece. Luck is second on the team with 36 goals while Bennett leads the Polar Bears with 31 assists.
 
Ohio Northern is third in Division III allowing 6.75 goals per game and killed off 36-of-42 (85.7%) penalties. Lich is 11-2 and leads Division III with a 6.61 goals-against average and a .606 save percentage, which is 11th in Division III. Sophomore Ryan Frech leads the Polar Bears with 31 caused turnovers and is second with 56 ground balls. Junior Alex Bergeron is second on the team with 26 caused turnovers, while Willits has 20. Senior Chad Calderwood is 169-of-287 (58.8%) on face-offs and leads the team with 78 ground balls.
 
OHIO WESLEYAN BATTLING BISHOPS (15-3) ROSTER | RESULTS | STATISTICS
Ohio Wesleyan is making its 30th NCAA Tournament appearance and first since 2018. The Battling Bishops earned an automatic berth with a 13-10 win over Denison in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championship. Sophomore Wade Beckstrom, sophomore Henry Ross and junior Will Siegenthaler each scored two goals in the title game.
 
Ohio Wesleyan is 15-3 overall and 5-0 in its last five games. The Battling Bishops average 16.5 goals per game and are 29-of-75 (38.7%) on man-up attempts. Ross leads Ohio Wesleyan with 75 points and 48 goals to go along with 27 assists. Beckstrom is second in scoring with 72 points and leads the Battling Bishops with 28 assists. Senior Carson Geier is third with 58 points (44g, 14a).
 
The Battling Bishops allow 9.5 goals per game and killed 42-of-64 (65.6%) penalties. Junior Nathan George is 15-3 with a 10.06 goals-against average and a .515 save percentage. Senior Anthony Fresolone and senior Wes Silver lead Ohio Wesleyan with 21 caused turnovers apiece. Junior Noah Citek has won 223-of-381 (58.5%) face offs and leads the team with 135 ground balls. First year Simon Hall is 89-of-142 (62.7%) from the face off "X" and is second on the team with 58 ground balls.
 
ST. JOHN FISHER CARDINALS (15-4) ROSTER | RESULTS | STATISTICS
St. John Fisher is making its sixth NCAA Tournament appearance. The Cardinals earned an automatic berth into this year's tournament after a 21-10 win over Nazareth to capture thier sixth straight Empire 8 title. Senior Brady Mason led Fisher with six goals, while sophomore Sean Donaldson tallied three goals and an assist. Junior Tyler Manning made 15 saves in net for the Cardinals.

St. John Fisher is 15-4 overall and 5-0 in its last five games. The Cardinals are seventh in Division III averaging 17.6 goals per game and are 21-of-62 (33.9%) on man-up. Mason leads St. John Fisher with 78 points and 54 goals. Fifth year Timmy Alit is second with 65 points and leads the Cardinals with 46 assists. Senior Braeden McNeil is third with 46 points (23g, 23a).

The Cardinals allow 8.21 goals per game, killing 28-of-45 penalties (62.2%). St. John Fisher averages 8.78 caused turnovers and 37.6 ground balls per contest. Senior Jack Cornell leads the team with 35 caused turnovers and senior Zach Stirpe is second with 23. Junior Bryce Riffel is winning 65.6% (162-of-247) of his draws and leads the Cardinals with 93 ground balls. Senior Scott Reeves is 122-of-192 (63.5%) on face-offs and is third with 667 ground balls. Manning is 15-3 with 7.93 goals-against average and a .582 save percentage.
