Men's Soccer loses 2-1 at Vassar in Liberty League Semifinal

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – RIT first year forward Da'Vid Robinson scored in the No. 5 Tigers 2-1 loss at No. 1 Vassar in the Liberty League Semifinal, Friday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Robinson scored in the sixth minute to give RIT the lead. Junior forward Selorm Dake centered a pass from the flank and Robinson scored on a one-timer from six yards out for his second tally of the season.
  • Vassar's Jared Fiske tied the game on his goal in the 16th minute off an assist from Duncan Keker.
  • Keker scored in the 22nd minute to give the Brewers a 2-1 lead.
  • Senior defender David Merriman saved a ball off the line on a shot from Jackson Hall in the 25th minute.
  • First year forward Idriss Diallo had a chance in the 28th minute on a RIT counterattack just miss the post.
  • Senior goalie Jason Trapp made two first-half saves including one late in the half to keep it a one-goal game.
  • Junior forward Jake Donahue and senior forward Rom Wasserman had shots blocked in the 64th minute and first year defender Adrian Sobczak had his free kick saved from 25 yards out in the 69th minute.
  • Senior midfielder John Lucas had a shot on target in the 83rd minute saved by Vassar keeper, Jacob Raphan.

 
GAME NOTES

  • Vassar outshot RIT, 17-7. RIT had three shots on target to five for the Brewers.
  • Trapp made two saves in net for RIT.
  • The Tigers had five corner kicks to six for Vassar.
