Women's Hockey loses 5-2 at No. 13 Colgate

HAMILTON, N.Y. – RIT junior defender Emma Pickering and sophomore forward Ireland Stein each scored a goal in the Tigers 5-2 loss at No. 13 Colgate, Friday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Dorothy Copetti scored at 5:41 of the first period to give Colgate the lead.
  • Emma Pais gave the Raiders a 2-0 lead on her goal at 6:26 of the first period and Elyssa Biederman scored at 16:23 of the opening frame to extend Colgate's lead to 3-0.
  • Stein scored a power play goal at 7:53 of the second period to cut the Raiders lead to 3-2.
  • Emma Pickering tallied a power play goal at 11:33 of the period that cut the Raider's lead to 3-2.
  • Alexis Petford scored a power play goal at 18:41 of the second period to give Colgate a 4-2 lead.
  • Madeline Palumbo scored at 17:40 of the third period to make it a 5-2 final.

 
GAME NOTES:

  • Colgate outshot RIT, 27-22.
  • The Tigers went 2-for-3 on the power play, while the Raiders were 1-for-2.
  • Senior goalie Sophia Bellina made 22 saves in net for the Tigers.
