Women's Hockey hosts Lindenwood for a pair of AHA contests

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's hockey team hosts Lindenwood for a pair of Atlantic Hockey America games on Friday and Saturday (Oct. 31 and Nov. 1). Friday's game at the Gene Polisseni Center begins at 3:00 p.m. and Saturday's game will start at 1:00 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT:
RIT split a pair of games against Syracuse last weekend, losing 5-2 on Friday followed by a 4-1 win at Syracuse. Syracuse jumped out to a 4-0 lead. First year defender Riley Gramlich scored a power play goal 57 seconds into the third period and sophomore forward Ireland Stein scored a goal that cut the Orange lead to 4-2. Senior goalie Sophia Bellina made 12 saves in net and sophomore goalie Brenna McNamara made seven saves in relief.
 
Saturday, Syracuse took a 1-0 lead early in the first period before junior forward Linda Rulle scored to tie the game at 1-1. First year forward Tilli Keranen gave the Tigers a 2-1 lead on her goal at 9:24 of the second period. First year forward Kolbee Ashe scored early in the third period to increase RIT's lead to 3-2 and junior forward Addie Alvarez added an empty-net goal to make it a 4-1 final. Bellina finished with 28 saves to earn the win in goal.
 
ABOUT RIT:
RIT enters the weekend fourth in the Atlantic Hockey America standings with a 2-2-0 conference record and seven points. The Tigers average 2.9 goals per game and allow 2.0 goals per contest. The Tigers are 13-of-40 (32.5%) on the power play and 28-of-35 (84.8%) on the penalty kill. RIT has won 270-of-516 (52.3%) of its faceoffs and blocked 141 shots.
 
RIT features seven players with three or more goals and 12 players with four or more points. Alvarez leads the team with eight points on four goals and four assists. Sophomore forward Brac Kelley is second with seven points on three goals and four assists. Rulle, senior forward Jaidan Fahrny and sophomore forward Kailey Favro are tied for third in scoring with six points apiece.  Rulle is tied with Alvarez with four goals and Fahrny and Favro each have a team-best five assists.
 
Junior defender Emma Pickering leads the team with 24 blocked shots and Gramlich is second with 18 blocks. Sophomore defender Madison Buziak is third on the team with 14 blocked shots, and Keranen and first year defender Laura Dyke are tied for fourth with 12 blocks apiece.
 
Bellina is 4-4 with a 1.83 goals-against average and a .937 save percentage. McNamara is 1-1 with a 1.32 goals-against average and a .933 save percentage.

ABOUT LINDENWOOD:
Lindenwood lost a pair of Atlantic Hockey America games at No. 6 Penn State last weekend by scores of 6-1 and 5-0. First year forward Michaela Paulinyova scored a goal in Friday's loss and senior goalie Lexington Secreto made 44 saves in net for the Lions. Sophomore goalie Catherine Hodgins and sophomore goalie Madison Bowtell combined to make 47 saves in Saturday's loss.
 
Lindenwood enters the weekend sixth in the AHA averaging 1.40 goals per game and sixth allowing 4.00 goals per contest. The Lions are sixth in the league converting 2-of-25 (.08 percent) of their power play chances and fourth killing off 28-of-35 (80.0%) their penalties. Lindenwood is sixth in the AHA winning 255-of-590 face offs (43.2%) and is third averaging 14.80 blocked shots per game.  
 
Junior forward Zsofia Pazmandi, first year forward Tatiana Bilchova and first year forward Ellen Wigermo are tied for first on the team with four points apiece. Pazmandi leads the Lions with three goals and Wigermo is tied with sophomore defender Ellie Muscedere for first on the team with three assists.
 
Senior forward Molly Henderson leads the team with 19 blocked shots. Graduate student defender Josey Dunne-Weeks is second with 17 blocks and junior defender Pusle Dyring-Andersen is third with 16 blocked shots.
 
Bowtell is 1-4-0 in net with a 3.89 goals-against average and .892 save percentage. Secreto is 0-3 with a 3.14 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage.
 
RIT VS. LINDENWOOD:
Lindenwood is 23-22-6 all time against RIT. The Tigers recorded a 5-0 record against the Lions last season, including a 3-0 record at the Gene Polisseni Center. Kailey Favro scored two goals and an assist to lead RIT to a 4-0 win in last year's AHA Quarterfinals.
