Men’s Basketball falls short against Ithaca, 99-73
ROCHESTER N.Y. - The RIT Men's Basketball team fell behind early and could not mount a comeback in a 99-73 setback to Ithaca, Tuesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The visiting Bombers jumped out to a quick 18-4 lead to start the game and carried their lead into halftime up 50-35.
- Trailing by 17 with 12:11 left in the half, RIT used a 14-3 run of their own, cutting Ithaca's lead to nine points with 8:17 on the clock.
- Ithaca went on another offensive spurt to extend the lead to 17 points before heading into halftime leading, 50-35.
- The Bombers led by as much as 34 points in the second half when Thomas McKiernan made a layup with 13:04 on the clock.
GAME NOTES
- Senior guard Chase Dickens led the Tigers with 13 points and seven assists.
- Ithaca shot 42.2 percent from long range, hitting 19 of 45 shots behind the three-point line.
- Senior forward Josiah Turner had 11 points and a team-high nine rebounds as sophomore guard Luke Granto added 10 points and four rebounds.
- The loss drops RIT to 5-7 overall and 1-4 in the Liberty League.
