ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT senior guard Matt Caggiano and senior guard Emma Waite were named United States Basketball Writers Association Area (USBWA) NCAA Division II-III Teams. On the men's side, Caggiano was a First Team selection, while Waite was a Honorable Mention selection on the women's side.
Caggiano led RIT and was 12th in the Liberty League, averaging 12.3 points per game. Caggiano scored in doubles figures 16 times, including a career-high 23 points against Ithaca (Jan. 16) and finished tied for sixth in the Liberty League averaging 2.8 assists per game.
Waite appeared in all 26 games, starting 24 of those contests. She led the team and was ninth in the Liberty League averaging 12.4 points per game. Waite led the league with 111 assists, averaging a league-best 4.3 assists per game. Waite set the single game scoring record, tallying 40 points against Bard (Feb. 17.).
