Men's Basketball downs Geneseo in OT, 90-82
GENESEO, N.Y. – Senior guard Chase Dickens scored a team-high 17 points to lead RIT past Geneseo in overtime, 90-82, Friday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After trading leads in the first half, the Tigers used a 9-0 run to take a 47-39 lead with 3:02 remaining in the half. The run was capped with one of Dickens' two three-pointers.
- Geneseo sent the game into overtime when Robert Perocolosi tied the game at 78 by converting the front-end of a pair of free-throws with just one second left on the clock.
- In the extra session, RIT went 9 of 14 at the free-throw line while outscoring the Knights 12-4.
GAME NOTES
- There are a total of 20 lead changes in the game with the largest lead of the game coming at the end of the game when graduate student guard Matt Caggiano made a free-throw with less than two seconds left to give RIT an eight point advantage.
- Dickens finished the game hitting 4 of 8 shots from the field and 7 of 8 from the charity stripe.
- Senior guard Brock Bowen added 16 points as graduate student Kenny Wilburn scored 14 points, hauled in six rebounds, and blocked three shots.
- The win improves the Tigers' overall record to 5-4.
