Men's Soccer downs Bard, 2-0 on Senior Day

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT sophomore forward Idriss Diallo scored a goal and added an assist in the Tigers 2-0 win over Bard on Senior Day, Saturday.
 
The Tigers honored seniors David Brassie, Connor Cronin, Selorm Dake, Bryce Hoang and graduate student Chris Lee prior to the start of the game.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Brassie had his shot on goal from the top of the Bard penalty box saved by Raptor's keeper, Jake Sudit in the 36th minute.
  • First year midfielder Constantine Santacrose forced Sudit into a diving save on his shot from 20 yards out in the 37th minute.
  • Diallo scored in the 47th minute to give RIT a 1-0 lead. He fired a free kick from 20 yards into the Bard wall. The rebound came back to Diallo who scored into the corner for his fifth goal of the season.
  • Senior midfielder Gabriel Zaninetti scored off an assist from Diallo in the 76th minute. Zaninetti took the pass from Diallo and chipped a shot over a sprawling Sudit to make it a 2-0 final.

 
GAME NOTES:

  • RIT outshot Bard, 17-5, firing 11 shots on net.
  • The Tigers had seven corner kicks to four for the Raptors.
  • Sophomore goalie Kristian Dobbek made three saves for the Tigers to earn his sixth shutout of the season.

RIT closes out the regular season on Saturday (Nov. 1) at Skidmore at 2:00 p.m.
