Men's Soccer loses 1-0 to Brockport in season opener

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT men's soccer team lost 1-0 to Brockport in Friday's season opener. The Tigers honored former coach Doug May prior to Friday's game.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Brockport's Russ Domm scored in the 13th minute off an assist from Giovanni Cardona to give the Golden Eagles the lead.
  • RIT first year forward Roman Mironenko had RIT's best chance in the first half in the opening minute of the game when his shot from distance was blocked by a Brockport defender.
  • Senior midfielder John Lucas had a shot from 18 yards out that just missed in the 49th minute.
  • Mironenko had a shot on target in the 53rd minute saved by the Brockport keeper, Andrew Taylor.

 
GAME NOTES

  • RIT fired 13 shots, including 10 in the second half
  • Senior goalie Jason Trapp made four saves in net for the Tigers
  • The Tigers fired eight corner kicks to two for the Golden Eagles
