Men's Tennis shines at Ranger Invitational Doubles Tournament

MADISON, N.J. – RIT first years Alexander Sinclair and Yu Tanimoto took first place at the Ranger Doubles Invitational at Drew, Saturday and Sunday. Senior Christina Berko and Grahith Movva placed second.
 
Sinclair and Tanimoto defeated Otarhe Okoh and Cole Riley 6-0 in their opening match. The duo beat Sergey Kravchenko and Shivi Perera 6-2, defeated Ronald Duval and Matthew Emery 6-1 and were 7-6 winners over Daniel Arcari and Jesse Faro.
 
Sunday, Sinclair and Tanimoto beat Cameron Longa and Pharrell Longenbcah 6-0 in the Round of 16 and beat senior Max Chang and sophomore Anthony Lounder 6-4 in the quarterfinals. They defeated sophomores Alec Turcotte and Luke Weber 6-4 in the semifinals and beat Berko and Movva 6-4 in the finals.
 
Berko and Movva beat Arcari and Paro 7-6 in their opening match and took down Kravchenko and Perera 6-3. They beat Duval and Emery 6-4 before a 6-1 loss to Ty Gelijns and Nicolas Mobayed.
 
Berko and Movva defeated Donovan Zong and Jonah Nguyen 6-1 in the Round of 16 and beat Okoh and Riley 6-1 in the quarterfinals. They were 6-4 winners over Arcari and Faro in the semifinals but lost 6-4 to Sinclair and Tanimoto in the finals.
 
RIT returns to action on Sunday (March 2) against Hamilton at 3:00 p.m.
