Men's Tennis competes at St. Lawrence Fall Classic

CANTON, N.Y. – RIT senior Gabriel Escobar won the "D" Singles title at the St. Lawrence Fall Classic. Escobar and junior Luke Weber won the "B" Doubles title.
 
Escobar defeated Joshua Chu (Rochester), 8-7 in Saturday's opening match. He went on to beat Hamilton's Neal Gupts, 8-1. Sunday, Escobar took down Preston McCarthy, 8-5 in the semifinals before an 8-4 win over Alejandro Fernandez (Hamilton) in the title match.
 
Escobar and Weber picked up an 8-2 win over Shreyas Kode and Christian Crowder (Union) in Saturday's opening match, and took down Akshat Dhull and Dylan Trinh (Hamilton), 8-3. Escobar and Weber defeated Rochester's Ethan Samora and Aiden Swartz, 8-4 in Sunday's semifinals before an 8-4 win over Ean Lantzy and Alex Mazza (Ithaca) in the championship match.
 
RIT returns to action on Wednesday, October 1 against Daemen at 3:00 p.m.
