Watson lands SUNYAC weekly honors

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - RIT first year Max Watson was named the SUNYAC Rookie Wrestler of the Week announced by the league, Monday.

Watson won the 157 lb. Division at the Cardinal Invitational, Sunday. Watson defeated Nassem Smith (Cortland) 18-2 in his opening match. He pinned Brockport's Sam Zeigler in the quarterfinals and defeated sophomore Carter Tadusz 22-6 in the semifinals. Watson was a 7-1 winner over Akio Sanders (Ithaca) in the championship match.

RIT returns to action on Saturday (March 1) for the start of the NCAA Regional Championships at Lycoming.
