Women's Basketball tops Skidmore, 78-68
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – First-year guard Caroline Henderson scored a game-high 24 points to lead RIT past Skidmore, 78-68, Friday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Tigers held Skidmore to just six points in the first quarter as the Thoroughbreds shot 1-of-13 from the field.
- Skidmore rallied in the second quarter, eventually taking the lead with 5:18 on the clock when Cassie Davidson hit a jumper, making the score 22-21.
- After a back-and-forth second half, RIT took the lead for good with 2:51 remaining when sophomore Maddy Ramsgard hit a jump shot.
- RIT finished the game making the final eight free throws to seal the win.
GAME NOTES
- Henderson's 24 points is a season and career-high as the guard shot 6-of-12 from the field, including 5-of-8 from beyond the arc. Henderson also went 7-of-10 from the free-throw line.
- Sophomore guard Maddy Ramsgard added 21 points for the Tigers while grabbing six rebounds and making six assists.
- As a team RIT shot 49.0 percent from the field and an effective 47.6 percent (10-of-21) from three-point range.
- The win puts the Tigers at 7-6 overall and falls to 5-1 in the Liberty League.

The Tigers visit Vassar tomorrow (Jan. 18). Game-time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
