Department welcomes four new assistant coaches
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT Executive Athletics Director Jacqueline Nicholson recently announced the addition of four new assistant coaches to the department.
Daniel Dubois – Swimming & Diving Assistant Coach
Dubois joins the department after serving as head coach at nearby Monroe Community College (MCC) for over 25 seasons.
Inducted into the National Junior College Swimming & Diving Hall of Fame in 2023, he guided the Tribune men and women to 44 Region 3 Championships while mentoring 19 individual national champions. He also served as the NJCAA Swimming & Diving Coaches Association President for 16 years.
Dubois has also been an adjunct Health and Physical Education professor at MCC since 1998, teaching a variety of classes within the department.
Jason Kozak – Women's Volleyball Assistant Coach
Kozak comes to RIT following eight years as President and Recruiting Director of Virginia Elite Volleyball Club.
A veteran head coach with over nearly 30 years of experience at all three NCAA levels, he previously served as Head Coach at Division-I St. Francis University (Pa.) from 2014-16, Division-II University of Charleston from 2012-14 and Division III Hollins (Va.) from 2010-12. Kozak also had a six-year stint as an assistant coach at Division-I Virginia from 2002-08 after a season as an assistant at Division-I Penn during the 2001-02 academic year.
A 1997 Brockport graduate, his first coaching job was at his alma mater for a season following graduation with a degree in physical education.
Brianne Moxley – Women's Basketball Assistant Coach
Moxley is a 2023 graduate from D'Youville with a degree in exercise and sports studies. She was a standout on the women's basketball team, helping the Saints to the 2022 and 2023 USCAA Division I Small College National Championship. Moxley was team captain from 2022-24, earning USCAA Second Team All-American honors and an USCAA All-Academic selection.
Moxley played five years of varsity basketball at nearby Penfield High School, earning All-Greater Rochester honors in 2019. A captain from 2017-2019, Moxley was a First Team All-Monroe County Division I selection from 2017-2019 and was the Monroe County Division I Player of the Year in 2019.
Moxley coached for the Empire Dragons AAU Program and helped Penfield to the 2020-21 Sectional Championship. She is currently pursuing a master's in athletic administration from The College at Brockport.
Emily Nestler – Women's Basketball Assistant Coach
Emily Nestler is a 2019 Brockport graduate where she tallied 828 points, alongside 552 rebounds and 109 blocked shots – the second most in program history. A two-time All-SUNYAC selection, she also garnered CSC Academic All-America and SUNYAC Elite 20 Award honors as a senior.
Nestler also played a season at NCAA Division II Roberts Wesleyan, helping the Redhawks to the 2015-16 National Christian College Athletic Association championship for the first time in program history.
Last season, Nestler served as an assistant coach at St. John Fisher during the Cardinals' run to a third-consecutive Empire 8 Championship and appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Nestler is a middle school social studies teacher at Our Lady of Mercy and has also served the athletic department in a variety of roles, including modified basketball coach and a co-coach of Mercy's strength and conditioning camp.

- Women's Basketball Coach Amy Reed to step away from coachingROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT Women's Basketball Head Coach Amy Reed announced her intention to step away from coaching to pursue other professional opportunities. She informed her team today, but will remain on staff to assist with special projects in the department through the end of the academic year.
