Women's Hockey loses 4-0 at Penn State in game two of AHA Semifinals
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The No. 4 RIT women's hockey team lost 4-0 at No. 1 Penn State in game two of the Atlantic Hockey American semifinal series, Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Maddy Christian scored for Penn State at 11:21 of the first period to give the Nittany Lions the lead.
- Leah Stecker scored at 16:19 of the opening frame to give Penn State a 2-0 lead.
- Sophomore defensewoman Emma Pickering fired a shot off the post and another on net in the closing seconds of the period.
- Senior goalie Sarah Coe made five saves in a scoreless second period, while the Tigers fired five shots in target.
- Abby Stonehouse scored at 5:40 of the third period to give Penn State a 4-0 lead and Tessa Janecke scored an empty-net goal at 17:03 to make it a 4-0 final.
