Women's Hockey travels to Robert Morris for a pair of AHA contests

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The RIT women's hockey team plays at Robert Morris for a pair of Atlantic Hockey America contests this Friday and Saturday (Jan. 17-18). Both games begin at 3:00 p.m.

Weekend Recap (RIT at No. 11 Penn State)
RIT dropped a pair of Atlantic Hockey America games at No. 11 Penn State, 3-0 and 3-2 last weekend. Senior goalie Sarah Coe made a season-high 45 saves in Friday's loss. Her 45 saves are third-most in her career. First year forwards Brac Kelley and Kailey Favro each scored, and Coe finished with 22 saves in Saturday's defeat.
 
Where They Stand (AHA)
RIT is fourth in the AHA standings with 13 points. The Tigers are three points behind third-place Syracuse and five points ahead of fifth-place Lindenwood.
 
Power (Play) Surge
RIT is 15-of-32 (46.9%) on the power play in the last nine games. The Tigers went 4-of-6 in a win at Mercyhurst (Nov. 23), a combined 5-of-10 in two games at Post (Jan. 3-4) and were 2-for-4 at Penn State (Jan. 11).

Senior goalie Sarah Coe enters the weekend second all-time in career saves (2,427) and minutes played (4,482) and third with 80 games played and 12th with a career .905 save percentage. Junior goalie Sophia Bellina is eighth all-time with a .928 save percentage and saves (914) and 11h in games played (38), minutes played (1,910) and a career 2.23 goals-against average.

Four Tigers are ranked in the top 100 in all-time scoring. Senior forward Kylie Aquaro is tied for 32nd all-time in scoring with 71 points (23g, 48a). Senior defensewoman Kyla Bear is tied for 62nd with 43 points (7g, 36a) and sophomore forward Addie Alvarez is tied for 68th with 41 points (14g, 27a). Senior forward Athena Vasdani is 74th with 39 points (16g, 23a).
 
Career Milestones
Senior defensewoman Bailey Kehl is three blocks shy of 170 for her career and senior forward Athena Vasdani (16g, 23a, 39p) is one point shy of 40. Senior defensewoman Kyla Bear (7g, 36a) is two points shy of 45 for her career, while sophomore forward Addie Alvarez is three assists shy of 30. Senior forward Kylie Aquaro (23g, 48a) is two goals shy of 25 and two assists shy of 50 for her career and graduate student defensewoman Mia Tsilemos is one block shy of 260 for her career.

Senior goalie Sarah Coe is 6-6-1 with a 2.44 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage, while junior Sophia Bellina is 4-3-2 with a 2.41 GAA and a .914 save percentage.
 
AHA Rankings
RIT leads Atlantic Hockey America in power play percentage (28.2%) and penalty killing percentage (83.3%). The Tigers are second in goals per game (2.71) and third in points per game (6.83), assists (99), goals allowed per game (2.58), and blocked shots per game (15.38).
 
Aquaro is tied for fourth in the AHA in points (22) and power play goals (4). The senior forward is tied for fifth in the league in points per game (0.92), seventh in assists (14) and tied for seventh in goals (8). Alvarez is fourth in the AHA in assists per game (0.65) tied for fifth in assist (22). The sophomore forward is sixth in the league in points (21) and points per game (0.91).
 
Pickering is tied for fifth in the league in goals (9) and tied for first with six power play tallies. The sophomore defensewoman is sixth in the AHA with 46 blocks. Kyla Bear is eighth in the AHA in assists (12) and blocked shots (43), while Kelley is sixth winning 55.1% of her face offs and seventh with 170 face-off wins.

About Robert Morris
Robert Morris enters the weekend with a 7-14-3 overall record and is sixth in the Atlantic Hockey America standings with seven points. The Colonials went 1-0-1 in a weekend series at Lindenwood, tying 3-3 on Friday and winning 3-0 the following day.
 
Robert Morris trailed Lindenwood 3-0 midway through Friday's game but came back to tie the game 3-3. Sophomore forward Janelle Evans tied the game on her goal with 42 seconds remaining in regulation. Sophomore forward Catriona Crarer and graduate student forward Jersey Phillips each scored for the Colonials while sophomore goaltender Maggie Hatch made 35 saves in net.
 
Hatch made 30 saves in Saturday's win, while sophomore defender Thalia D'Elia recorded a goal and an assist. Sophomore forward Alyssa Rasmussen and junior forward Morgan Giannone each scored for Robert Morris.
 
Robert Morris enters the weekend fourth in Atlantic Hockey America averaging 1.92 goals per game and fifth allowing 3.50 goals per contest. The Colonials are sixth in the league converting 10.3 percent of their power-play chances and fifth killing off 67.7 percent of their opponent's power plays.
 
Giannone leads Robert Morris with 16 points, including a team-high nine assists. Evans (4g, 9a) and graduate student forward Veronica Bac (8g, 5a) are tied for second with 13 points apiece. Graduate student forward Mia Nugent is fourth with 11 points (4g, 7a). Bac is tied for seventh in the AHA with eight goals, while graduate student defender Allyson Hebert leads the league with 68 blocked shots.
 
Hatch is seventh in the league with a 3.07 goals-against average, fourth with a .925 save percentage and leads the league averaging 33.56 saves per game. The Colonials are second in Division I with 870 team saves.
 
RIT vs. Robert Morris
Robert Morris is 30-14-6 all-time versus RIT. The Tigers went 1-0-1 against the Colonials at the Gene Polisseni Center on Nov. 1-2. Addie Alvarez and Nicole Ness each scored for RIT, while Kylie Aquaro had two assists. Bac and Madison Primeau each scored for the Colonials. Kailey Favro scored two goals and Mia Tsilemos handed out two assists in the Tigers 5-1 win the following day.
 
Ranked Opponents
RIT plays four teams ranked in this week's USCHO Division I Women's Poll. The Tigers are 1-4-1 splitting a pair of games against No. 6 Colgate (Oct. 11-12) and went 0-1-1 versus No. 11 St. Lawrence (Oct. 25-26). The Tigers lost 5-2 at No. 7 Cornell (Nov. 26) and 5-1 (Dec. 31). RIT plays No. 9 Penn State (Jan. 10-11, Feb. 14-15).
