Women's Hockey wins 4-1 at Post

SHELTON, Conn. – RIT senior forward Jordyn Bear tallied a goal and an assist in the Tigers 4-1 win over Post in non-conference action, Friday.
 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Senior forward Bronwyn Khangsar scored a power play goal at 8:01 of the first period to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead. Sophomore defensewoman Emma Pickering skated into the zone. She fed a pass to Khangsar at the face-off dot and she scored on a one-timer.
  • Aquaro gave RIT a 2-0 lead on her goal off assists from junior forward Jaidan Fahrny and graduate student forward Nicole Ness at 14:09 to extend the Tiger's lead to 2-0.
  • Bear intercepted the puck at center-ice, breaking in and scoring a short-handed goal 3:30 into the second period to give RIT a 3-0 lead.
  • Tristan Currie scored 3:28 into the third period that cut the RIT lead to 3-1.
  • Graduate student defensewoman Mia Tsilemos scored at 19:56 off an assist from Bear to make it a 4-1 final.

 
GAME NOTES

  • RIT outshot Post 33-13
  • The Tigers went 2-for-3 on the power play, while the Eagles were 0-for-4
  • Junior goalie Sophia Bellina made 12 saves in net to earn the win
