Women's Cross Country Takes Second at Terry Rodenbeck Invitational

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT sophomore Kathryn Arbegast and senior Sierra Danieu finished second and third out of 116 runners to lead the Women's Country team to second place out of nine teams at the season-opening Terry Rodenbeck Invitational, Friday, at St. John Fisher.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Arbegast (15:13.3) edged Danieu (15:13.6) by three tenths of a second over the 4K course, finishing less than six seconds behind overall winner Ari Reback from Geneseo
  • Junior Abby Nautel took 15th with a time of 16:22.1.
  • Sophomore Eva Reilly placed 18th (16:22.8) before classmate Therese Georgia crossed 22nd (16:31.4) to complete the Tigers' top five.
  • Junior Abby Thomas (17:02.9) and senior Jade Kimmel (17:06.2) placed 30th and 34th, respectively, to round out RIT's top seven.
  • SUNY Geneseo won the race with 41 points followed by RIT (57), the host Cardinals (90), Cortland (120) and Nazareth (124) in the top five.

 WHAT'S NEXT
RIT is off for three weeks until running in the University of Rochester's Yellowjacket Invitational (Sept. 21) at Genesee Valley Park. Race time is scheduled for 11:45 a.m.
