RIT Athletics Preview: Sep. 16-22
MEN'S SOCCER
The Tigers split their two games last week, falling at home to No. 22 Rochester, 3-0, Tuesday before earning a 3-2 win at Keene State on Saturday.
In the win, RIT shot out to a 3-0 lead, scoring three times in the first 10 minutes of the game. First-year defender Adrian Sobczak scored his first career goal and what would prove to be the game-winner in the 9th minute of action. Senior midfielder John Lucas also scored for the Tigers while adding an assist.
RIT returns to action on Friday (Sep. 20) against Hobart in the Liberty League opener at 7:00 p.m.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL
RIT went 1-2 over the weekend at the Allegheny Invitational. The Tigers fell to Westminster (PA) 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-33) and Washington & Jefferson 3-0 (25-13, 26-24, 25-18) before defeating Fredonia 3-0 (25-18, 25-14, 25-22).
Senior middle blocker Catherine Vento was named to the All-Tournament team after recording 25 kills and 8 blocks (3 solo, 5 assists) over the three matches.
RIT returns to Pennsylvania next weekend for four matches at the Grove City/Westminster Invitational, starting with a 2:00 p.m. matchup with Thiel and a 6:00 p.m. contest with Wooster on Friday (Sep. 20).

WOMEN'S SOCCER
RIT remain undefeated after the team tied St. John Fisher, 2-2, Tuesday before defeating Plattsburgh, 1-0, Saturday.
Junior Elena Onodera scored the game-tying goal at St. John Fisher in the 83rd minute before scoring the lone goal of the game five minutes into the second half at Plattsburgh. The forward leads RIT with 12 points (4 goals, 4 assists) through five games.
The Tigers travel to take on Wooster on Saturday (Sep. 21).

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
RIT ran their way to a second-place finish to open the season on August 30th at the Terry Rodenbeck Invitational. After taking first place, junior Derick Koen was named the USTFCCCA Men's Division III Athlete of the Week.
The Tigers return to action this weekend, participating in the Yellowjacket Invitational at Genesee Valley Park.

RIT sophomore Kathryn Arbegast and senior Sierra Danieu finished second and third out of 116 runners to lead the Tigers to second place out of nine teams on August 30th at the season-opening Terry Rodenbeck Invitational.

WOMEN'S TENNIS
In their first match of their fall schedule, the Tigers defeated Hartwick, 7-0, in non-conference action, Sunday.
Sophomore Maya Clinard and first-year Maya McDaniel won at second doubles for RIT. The duo asl won at fourth and second singles respectively.
The team will compete in the ITA Northeast Regional Championships this weekend at Skidmore College.
