Welcome to CHIPR (Cultural Heritage Imaging Preservation and Research), where RIT students and faculty come together to share their research, new ideas, and encourage one another in interdisciplinary cultural heritage research. Do you have an idea for research? Would you like a different viewpoint on current research? Want to just share what's going on in your department or program regarding cultural heritage research and projects? This is the community to build that in Brick City. Join us! We begin our series on Friday, September 6, 2024. We meet every other Friday from September 6 through November 15, 2024 in either the Liberal Arts Building room1251 (McKenzie Commons)-- or Carlson room 2240. Bring your coffee mug (or whatever you drink!) and join us.

Come learn more about the History and Museum Studies Programs, and hear from NTID faculty member and historian Dr. Corinna Hill about her research on deaf clubs and their significance in building community in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Light refreshments will be served.

Join us on Friday, September 20, 2024 in the Dyer Arts Center, Williams Gallery  (LBJ-60 – 1000) for a reception to close out a wonderful exhibit titled, "BLACK DEAF ART PERIOD."  Light refreshments will be available as participants take advantage of the the last opportunity to see this inspiring collection.

This semi-structured group invites men of color (MOC) to explore personal development as an adjunct to their academic pursuits. Students will explore personal and cultural history, evaluate and restructure belief systems, and pursue personal power. This is a safe space where students are welcomed and encouraged to explore issues of race, ethnicity, gender, and cultural trauma.
