A key measure of a productive tech ecosystem is the successful transition of new graduates from academia into industry. With academia focusing on building a broader knowledge base, industry readiness of students for a successful transition necessitates dynamically evolving industry-academia collaborations. This event initiated by IEEE Women in Engineering Rochester focuses on working with local partners towards the common goal of creating awareness, addressing challenges, and promoting retention of talent within the local tech ecosystem; a key focus is on diversity and inclusion.

A leading voice for Black visibility in climate action, Jerome Foster II has presented on stages around the world from the White House to the United Nations Climate Conference and has been featured in Time magazine, BBC, The New York Times, and more. Get inspired by Jerome and his work to create positive social and environmental change through art, technology, and policy. A Q and A session following Foster’s presentation will be moderated by RIT student Myren Bobryk-Ozaki.

Calling all RIT zinesters, artists, and makers: the RIT Libraries is building an RIT-made circulating zine collection and wants your work to be a part of it! Join us on Tuesday, October 1, as we kick off our zine collecting with a drop-in workshop to learn more about zines, this new collection, and submitting your work. We’ll have supplies to make your own zines and zines to share–and we welcome you to bring and share your own zines, too.
