Women's Tennis beats Hartwick, 7-0

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's tennis team defeated Hartwick, 7-0 in non-conference action, Sunday.
 
DOUBLES:

  • Sophomore Maya Clinard and first-year Maya McDaniel defeated Ryann Ashby and Colleen Marsh, 6-2 at second doubles.
  • Senior Abby Murray and first-year Melanie Saborio teamed up to beat Lily Vanuga and Maggie Van Valkenburg, 6-2 at third doubles to secure the double point for the Tigers.

 
SINGLES:

  • Sophomore Kira Kronenberg was a 6-1, 6-4 winner over Alexandra Krasinska at first singles.
  • McDaniel defeated Vanuga 6-0, 6-1 at second singles and first-year Emily Greb beat Samantha Lantzy 6-0, 6-2 at third singles.
  • Clinard was a 6-2, 6-1 winner over Ashby at fourth singles and Saborio took down Gianna Leggieri 6-4, 6-3 at fifth singles.
  • Murray was a 6-3, 6-3 winner over Van Valkenburg at sixth singles.

RIT returns to action on Friday (Sept. 20) at the first day of competition at the ITA Northeast Regional Championships at Skidmore College.
