Wrestling to compete at NCAA Region 2 Championships

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT wrestling team will compete at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships beginning on March 1 at Lycoming College. The Tigers will send 10 wrestlers to compete in the two-day event.

RIT is one of 19 teams competing at this weekend's regional championships. The top-3 finishers in each weight class earn qualification into the NCAA Division III Championships to be held March 14-15 in Providence, RI.
 
Sophomore Tyler Balent enters the weekend ranked seventh regionally at 174 lb. He is 20-14 this season with five wins via pinfall.
 
Sophomore Jacob Deysher will compete at 133 lb. He enters the weekend with a 19-13 record, including five wins by major decision.
 
First year Ronald Dietz will compete at 197 lb. He enters the weekend with nine wins, including six via pinfall.
 
Senior Michael Glynn III is ranked seventh nationally and third regionally at 149 lb. He enters the weekend with a 19-1 record with 12 wins coming by pinfall. Glynn is two wins shy of 100 for his career. Glynn finished second at last year's regional championships and eighth at the NCAA Championships to earn All-American honors.
 
Junior Josh Harkless is third nationally and first in the region at 285 lb. He is 23-0 entering the championships with 17 wins coming via pinfall. Harkless finished eighth at the 2023 NCAA Championships to earn All-American honors.
 
First year Kyle Jacobs will compete at 184 lb. He enters the weekend with a 12-9 record that includes five wins via pinfall.
 
First year Jack Lamson enters the weekend ranked third regionally at 165 lb. He is 17-11 on the season, including six wins coming via pinfall. Lamson is a two-time SUNYAC Rookie Wrestler of the Week and placed fourth at the RIT Invitational.
 
Sophomore Jared Lee will compete at 157 lb. He enters this weekend's championship with a 17-6 record, including four wins by major decision.
 
Senior Josh Post will compete in the 141 lb. division. He enters the regional championships with a 16-10 overall record including five wins via pinfall.
 
Senior Lee Rubin is ranked sixth in region 2 at 125 lb. He enters the weekend with a 14-10 record, including 10 wins via pinfall. Rubin finished fifth at last year's regional championships.
