PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The RIT women's track & field team competed at the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic, Saturday, in its final meet prior to next weekend's Liberty League Outdoor Championships.
Senior thrower Emily DiMarco led the Tigers with a first-place finish in the discus with a regional qualifying distance of 40.90m. DiMarco also placed third in the shot put with a mark of 11.79m.
Fellow senior thrower Sonya Shivok earned second place in the javelin with a throw of 34.93m, a regional qualifying distance.
Junior sprinter/jumper Rania Sabri leaped to a second-place finish in the triple jump, reaching 11.10m on the first attempt. On the track, Sabri placed third in the 100m hurdles, crossing the finish line in 15.15 seconds, a personal best. Both were regional qualifying results.

The Tigers host the 2025 Liberty League Outdoor Championships this coming Friday and Saturday (May 2-3) at the RIT Track & Field Complex. The men's decathlon and women's heptathlon events on Friday are scheduled to start at noon, with track event prelims starting at 2 p.m.
