Two Tigers land Liberty League weekly honors

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Two RIT student-athletes were honored by the Liberty League with weekly accolades, announced Tuesday (Sept. 3).

Senior Olivia Harris was the Women's Soccer Offensive Performer of the Week, while junior runner Derick Koen was the Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Harris scored two goals and added a pair of assists to help RIT to a 2-0 record, last week. The senior forward scored the opening goal in the 58th minute in Friday's 2-1 win over Stevens in the season opener. She tallied a goal and added two assists in Saturday's 6-1 win over Mount St. Mary (NY), scoring the game's opening goal before assisting on two goals. Harris fired three of her four shots on frame in two games.

Koen finished first out of 121 runners to lead RIT to second place out of nine teams at the St. John Fisher Terry Rodenbeck Invitational, Friday. Koen covered the six-kilometer course in a time of 19:34.2 to best the field by two seconds.
