Men's Basketball falls at Ithaca, 80-69
ITHACA, N.Y. – The RIT men's basketball team lost on the road to Ithaca, 80-69, Tuesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After scoring the game's first six points, RIT led the Bombers until Logan Wendell put Ithaca up by one point with 9:39 left in the half.
- Senior guard Brock Bowen tied the game at 37-37 for the Tigers with less than a minute to play in the half before first-year guard Danny Cohen gave RIT a 39-37 advantage with seven seconds on the clock.
- RIT's last lead of the game came in the second half when graduate student guard Matt Caggiano made a layup with 13:39 on the clock to break a 50-50 tie.
- The Bombers began to pull away with their largest lead coming at the 7:58 mark when Jose Padilla hit a three-pointer to make the score 68-55.
- The Tigers clawed their way back to come within five points when Brody Brown made a layup with 1:44 left, but were unable to get any closer was Ithaca converted free throws down the stretch.
GAME NOTES
- Senior forward Josiah Turner recorded his third consecutive double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
- Sophomore guard Zac Ditzel added 13 points after hitting 5-of-7 from the field as Bowen chipped in 12 points.
- Caggiano had a game-high eight assists while scoring 10 points and grabbing seven rebounds for the Tigers.
- As a team, RIT shot 49.1 percent from the field to the Bombers; 42.6 field goal shooting percentage.

RIT is home this Friday (Feb. 14) when they host Vassar at 7:30 p.m.
