Baseball falls at home to Alfred State, 14-3
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT baseball team dropped a non-conference game at home to Alfred State, 14-3, Tuesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trailing 3-0, the Tigers scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning when junior catcher Roberto Reade doubled to left field to drive in junior outfielder Jackson Rusecki and senior outfielder Sam Kulp.
- With a 4-2 lead in the sixth inning, Alfred State took control of the game when Connor Kiefer hit a double into left field to bring in three runners for the Pioneers.
- The visitors doubled their run total over the final three innings.
- Reade rounded out the scoring in the bottom of the ninth with a single that brought graduate student John Bagley across home plate.
GAME NOTES
- Reade finished the game with three RBIs after going 2-of-3 at the plate.
- Alfred State's starting pitcher lasted eight innings, allowed three hits and struck out eight RIT batters.
- The loss puts RIT's record at 14-6 overall.
UP NEXT
RIT travels to take on Ithaca this Friday at 3:30 p.m. in the first game of a three-game series against the Bombers.
