Men's Hockey lands 24 Atlantic Hockey America All-Academic Honorees
ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Twenty-four members of the RIT men's hockey team were named to the 2023-24 Atlantic Hockey America All-Academic Team, Thursday.
- RIT was one of seven of the league's 11 institutions to place at least 20 individuals on the team, which recognized players who achieved at least a 3.0 grade point average during both the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters.
- Senior goaltender Daniel Chenard was also one of 11 Atlantic Hockey Student-Athlete of the Year honorees recognized for posting a 4.0 during both semesters – the fourth-consecutive season he received the recognition.
- The men's hockey team finished the academic year with a combined 3.587 grade point average to lead all the men's teams in the department. RIT was also one of only five Division I men's hockey programs in the nation to finish with a perfect Academic Progress Rate (APR) score, which measures student-athlete success in the classroom based on grades, degree progress and staying in school.
