Men's Soccer plays at Vassar in Liberty League Semifinal

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The No. 5 RIT men's soccer team will play at top-seeded Vassar in the Liberty League Men's Soccer Tournament Semifinal on Friday (Nov. 8) at 1:30 p.m.
 
RIT advanced to the semifinal with a 1-0 win at No. 4 Hobart in Tuesday's first round game. Junior forward Selorm Dake scored the game-winner in the 82nd minute off an assist from senior midfielder John Lucas. Senior goalie Jason Trapp made six saves, including four in the second half to earn the win.
 
RIT enters the tournament averaging 0.76 goals per game, while allowing 1.24 goals per contest. Dake leads RIT with seven points on a team-high three goals and an assist, scoring three goals in the last five games, including two straight at Vassar (Nov. 2) and at Hobart (Nov. 5). Junior forward Jake Donahue is second with five points and is tied for second on the team with senior defender Daniel Gebura with two goals. Lucas (1g, 2a) and first years Adrian Sobczak (1g, 2a) and Idriss Diallo (1g, 2a) are tied with Gebura for third in scoring with four points apiece.
 
Trapp has seen all the minutes in goal this season, recording seven wins. He sixth in the Liberty League averaging 3.47 saves per game, tied for sixth with four shut outs, ninth with a .738 save percentage and tenth with a 1.23 goals-against average.
 
Vassar averages 2.37 goals per game and allow 1.13 goals per contest. The Brewers are 2-1-2 in their last five games, including a 5-1 win over RIT in the regular season finale.
 
First year Arden Tobolski leads Vassar with 24 points, including a team-best 10 goals. Senior Duncan Keker is second with 17 points (6g, 5a) and junior Jared Fiske is third in scoring with 15 points (6g, 3a).
 
Sophomore goalie Jacob Raphan has 11 wins in net this season. He is eighth in the Liberty League with a 1.16 goals-against average, tenth with a .712 save percentage and ninth averaging 2.8 saves per game.
 
Friday's winner will play the winner between No. 2 St. Lawrence and No. 3 Skidmore in the Liberty League Championship on Sunday (Nov. 10).
