STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Members of the RIT men's track & field team competed at Nazareth's and Penn State's Tune-Up meets on Friday in preparation for next weekend's Liberty League Championships.
High jumpers Erich Brown and Trevor Krukin were first and second, respectively, as the pair both cleared 1.87m. Brown made the height on the first attempt and Krukin made it on the second attempt.
At Nazareth, Swenson placed second in the pole vault with a regional qualifying height of 4.61m.
Distance runners Joseph Coughlin and Benicio Benzan came in second and third in the 1000m event with times of 2:40.34 and 2:24.44.
At Penn State, sophomore Jack DeFeo was the top Division III finisher in the 400, finishing seventh with a program-record 48.52, while teammate Max Stein took ninth overall with a 49.13 showing.
In the 4x400 relay, DeFeo and Stein teamed with Noah Flanders and John Elliot to win the event with a time of 3:18.47 - only .16 seconds shy of the program record.
Derick Koen was third in the 3,000 with a time of 8:32.97.
