ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT Men's Cross Country team opened the season with a second-place finish at St. John Fisher's Terry Rodenbeck Invitational.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Junior Derick Koen took first place for the Tigers with a 6k time of 19:34.2.
- Fellow junior Evan Owens was seventh (20:05.4) with senior Jeffrey Gibbs two spots back in ninth (20:15.8).
- Rounding out the top five for RIT were sophomore Jackson Burger at 18th (20:37.2) and freshman Spencer Buff at 23rd (20:41.8)
- SUNY Geneseo was first with 27 points as the Tigers scored a total of 51 points.
WHAT'S NEXT
RIT is off until Saturday, September 21 when they take part in the University of Rochester's Yellowjacket Invitational at Genesee Valley Park. Race time is scheduled for 11:45 a.m.
