Women's Basketball falls to Ithaca in Liberty League semifinals, 64-48
ITHACA, N.Y. – The RIT women's basketball team saw their season come to a close with a 64-48 setback to top-seeded Ithaca in the semifinals of the Liberty League Tournament, Friday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The fourth-seeded Tigers took an early one-point lead midway through the first quarter when first-year forward Ben Keyser-Cochran made a driving layup, making the score 6-5.
- Leading 12-8 with under two minutes to play in the first quarter, Ithaca used a 9-0 run to end the first quarter with an 11-point advantage.
- In the second quarter, RIT would trim the deficit to nine on two occasions before the Bombers hit back-to-back three pointers to widen the gap and head into halftime with a 31-18 lead.
- The Tigers were unable to find a rhythm on offense in the second half as Ithaca would lead by as much as 23 points in the fourth quarter.
GAME NOTES
- Sophomore guard Maddy Ramsgard ended the game with a team-high 12 points to go along with a team-high eight rebounds.
- Senior guard Kaitlyn Bockelman and first-year guard Caroline Henderson each added nine points for the Tigers.
- This game marked RIT's first appearance in the semifinals of the Liberty League Tournament since the 2018-19 season.
- The loss puts the Tigers' overall record at 15-12 to end the 2024-25 campaign.
