Women's Soccer edges Plattsburgh, 1-0
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – RIT junior forward Elena Onodera scored the game's lone goal in the 50th minute to give the Tigers a 1-0 win at Plattsburgh, Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Five minutes into the second half, senior defender Rachel Marriott sent a lengthy through ball from the Tigers' defensive third to an open Onodera past midfield along the left sideline. Onondera dribbled downfield and sent her shot just inside the right post.
GAME NOTES
- The Tigers out-shot Plattsburgh,19-1, including nine shots on goal.
- With the goal, Onodera now has a team-high four goals. The senior has earned 12 points (4 goals, 4 assists) through five games.
- The assist was Marriott's second this season.
- The win was the first shutout this season for RIT as the Cardinals were unable to put a shot on goal.
