Softball falls twice at Union, 4-0, 4-0

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The RIT Softball team dropped a pair of identical 4-0 losses at Union in Liberty League play, Friday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

  • RIT was limited to two hits in the first game, while Union plated a pair of runs in the first inning and two more in the sixth.
  • Junior Jessica Majot took the complete game loss, only allowing five hits and one walk while striking out four Garnett Chargers. 
  • In game two, Union once again jumped out to an early 3-0 lead with a run in the first and two more in the second, before tacking on an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth.
  • First years Carlianna Ewing and Sylvia White each went 2-for-3, as the Tigers totaled six hits.
  • First-year Mackenzie Blair took the complete game loss, allowing eight hits and two walks while striking out six. 

WHAT'S NEXT
RIT is scheduled to host Alfred on Tuesday (Apr. 29) for a non-league doubleheader at 3:00 p.m. The Tigers will also close the regular season next Saturday (May 3) at Ithaca, needing a doubleheader sweep of the Bombers to remain in contention for a Liberty League Tournament berth.
