Women's Soccer ties St. John Fisher, 2-2
PITTSFORD, N.Y. - Junior forward Elena Onodera scored the game-tying goal in the 83rd minute to give RIT Women's Soccer a 2-2 tie at St. John Fisher, Tuesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- RIT fell behind quickly, allowing an own goal less than two minutes into the game.
- Senior forward Olivia Harris found the back of the net in the 12th minute found the back of the net off a pass from senior midfielder Jessie Gomez to make it 1-1.
- In the 75th minute, St. John Fisher regained the lead with a goal from Emma Spelman.
- Nine minutes later, Onondera found herself in space in front of goal and slotted home a shot near the left post to even the game. Senior forward Rachel Marriott earned the assist.
GAME NOTES
- RIT outshot the Cardinals, 10-8, Onondera led the team with three shots, including two shots on goal.
- Starting first-year goalkeeper Avery Donnelly made two saves in the first 45 minutes and junior Emily Sanchez made two more saves playing the entire second half.
- The Tigers remain unbeaten through four games to start the season with two wins and two draws.

RIT travels to Plattsburgh this Saturday for a non-conference game at 1 p.m.
