Three Tigers land CSCAA Scholar All-American honors

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Three members of the RIT women's swimming and diving team were recognized as 2023-24 College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) Individual Scholar All-Americans.
 
Junior Anna Peshenko and first-year Maddi Williams were first team selections, while first-year Gwen Petrie was a second team selection.
 
Peshenko won the 400 IM and the 100 and 200 breaststroke individual title at the 2024 Liberty League Championships, earning Liberty League Swimmer of the Year honors. She was a Honorable Mention All-American after placing 15th in the 200 breaststroke at the NCAA Championships. A mechanical engineering major, Peshenko is a two-time Liberty League All-Academic selection.
 
Williams placed third in the 1M and 3M diving finals at the Liberty League Championships. She placed ninth in the 1M at the NCAA Championships to earn Honorable Mention All-American honors.
 
Petrie finished seventh in the 1M diving finals at the Liberty League Championships and was eighth in the 3M final. She placed sixth in the 1M and 3M at the NCAA Diving Regionals. The RIT Athlete of the Week (Jan. 23) is majoring in industrial design.
 
To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championship. Second-Team selections must have also earned a 3.5 GPA or higher and met a "B" time standard for the national championship or qualified for a diving zone qualification meet.
