RIT Athletics Preview: Jan. 27 – Feb. 2
MEN'S and WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD
At their first home meet of the season on Friday, sophomore Jack DeFeo took first place in the 400m with a regional qualifying time of 49.66 seconds, beating out first-year John Elliot who took second with a time of 50.79 seconds.
On the women's side, senior thrower Emily DiMarco won the shot put with a regional qualifying mark of 12.43m.
RIT hosts their second home meet Thursday (Jan. 30) evening inside the Gordon Fieldhouse with events starting at 4 p.m.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Over the weekend, the Tigers defeated Clarkson and St. Lawrence to improve to 7-2 in Liberty League action and 9-7 overall.
Senior guard Hannah Durand averaged 13.5 points over the two games as first-year forward Ben Keyser-Cochran averaged 14 points per game.
The team is home this weekend with games against RPI (Jan. 31) and William Smith (Feb. 1).

MEN'S BASKETBALL
The Tigers dropped their two games over the weekend at home against Clarkson and St. Lawrance.
Against Clarkson, senior forward Josiah Turner scored a season-high 20 points after shooting 44.4 percent from the field. Turner also hauled in 14 rebounds over the two games.
RIT remains at home with games against RPI on Friday (Jan. 31) and Hobart on Saturday (Feb. 1).

WRESTLING
RIT placed third at Elizabethtown's D. Kenneth Ober Invitational on Saturday. Senior Michael Glynn III (149 lb.) and first-year Max Waston (157 lb.) each won their weight class to lead the Tigers.
RIT stays close to home this week with a dual match at St. John Fisher on Friday (Jan. 31) at 7 p.m.

WOMEN'S HOCKEY
The Tigers picked up a 2-1 home win against Syracuse on Friday before falling on the road to their Thruway rivals, 3-2.
In the win on Friday, graduate student defensewoman Mia Tsilemos scored the game-winning goal at 4:02 in the second period.
RIT is home this weekend with a pair of games against Mercyhurst.

MEN'S HOCKEY
RIT dropped two home games against Niagara last week.
In Saturday's 6-3 defeat, senior forward Andrew Turner scored once and added an assist for the Tigers.
The team heads west this week to face off against Air Force in Colorado Springs, Colo.

MEN'S and WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING
RIT suffered setbacks at Geneseo with the men's team falling 183.5-169.5 and the women's team losing 213-140.
Divers Gwen Petrie and Maddi Williams placed first and second place in the 3M Diving event with scores of 457.55 and 446.35, respectively.
For the men, graduate student Drew Scheib placed first in both the 100 Freestyle (45.87) and the 100 Backstroke (51:30) for RIT.
The teams host Hobart and William Smith on Saturday (Feb. 1) for a dual meet at 1 p.m.
