CANTON, N.Y. – RIT senior Sierra Danieu ran to an 11th place finish out of 100 runners to help the women's cross country team place fifth at the Liberty League Championships, Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Danieu recorded a time of 22:45.2 to lead the Tigers. The finish for the senior is a marked improvement from last year's championship race when Danieu placed 35th overall.
- Sophomore Kathryn Arbegast was second for RIT, taking 19th place with a clocking of 23:13.7.
- Therese Georgia (23.26.3) and Eva Reilly (23:50.6), both sophomores, were 24th and 36th respectively. Junior Abby Nautel placed 40th to finish fifth for the Tigers with a time of 23.58.5.
- The Tigers scored 117 points as Vassar won the championship race with 36 points. RPI took second (41) followed by St. Lawrence (86) and Ithaca (107). Vassar's Haley Schoenegge won the race with a time of 20:59.6, beating our RPI's Jules Bleskoski by seven seconds.

RIT has two weeks to prepare for the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional Championship (Nov. 16), which will take place at Lake Erie State Park and is hosted by Fredonia.
