Accessibility + Inclusion for Museums and Archives: Visual Description Workshop

Join us for an interactive workshop exploring the practice of visual description for museums. Visual descriptions are important aspect to providing equitable and inclusive experiences to visitors who are blind and have low-vision and provide a means for greater engagement with all visitors, in particular for digital content and experiences. As museums work to reach all audiences, accessibility and inclusion are essential toward this goal. We’ll discuss applications of visual descriptions and learn the elements and considerations for authoring through group discussion. After the workshop, we’ll have an open Ask-Me-Anything session with Ruth talking accessibility, museum inclusion, DEIA, or otherwise.
